Shooter 93-- I decided to take IE 9 off my computer yesterday and this morning downloaded Chrome from their web-site since other web-sites could be trouble. I am having no problems with the computer now. I have been on line for nearly and hour and the system seems fine. Do you think I have to do the HijackThis still? I guess you too think I don't want to follow instructions but I don't show any viruses on AVG or malwarebytes. I will run both again and then if you and Cookie still think I should run hijack and all of what needs to be done, I will. If its ok now I just don't want to go through all of it unless you guys think the computer might still be at risk. Thanks for everything.

I just caught your last message referring to HJT before the thread had several posts deleted.

"You didn't receive an objection, your received a response. You implied that I should ask for a HjT log, I told you of my experiences asking for one as a regular member".

I apologise for any misunderstanding in that thread, I think we both had a couple. My post suggesting an HJT log would be useful was just a general comment and not aimed at anyone in particular.

As you can now see from Cookiegal's closing post in that thread I was being perfectly honest.

Hope this has cleared the air, the last thing I want is to have any dispute with another helper.

Hey, instead of waiting for you to view the thread...I decided to post it here..
"The front 2 ports don't work. The back 2 original ports don't work. The 2 new ones ONLY work when the computer is completely on. I took the extender out and put my keyboard in. It worked, I restarted my PC and it didn't work until completely on. I don't even have any PS2 ports on my computer..."

I am really impressed with this forum, as compared to a couple of other forums I've used.
I never did figure out about the sound on my Gateway. Everything else works well, except for the sound and media player, ("sound, video and game controllers").
