I had a "serious" photo in for a coupla days and Tim said I looked like a KGB hitman Had to get rid of the earlier photo case the Guardia looks in and decides to investigate the field above the house.

The photo has progressed from "this is Buff on drugs" to "pimp daddy Buff".

humidity (rel.) 83 pct at the moment, temp 30 degC (just past midnight) but the max temp for tomorrow is supposed to be 33 deg C. That's a relief since it was 38 deg C today. Plenty of fires around. Nothing like California has but a coupla houses go every year.

With two Sat dishes mounted on the roof I get a variety of European TV and further away programmes. Robert de Niro speaking Moroccan Arabic is a real hoot

But sometimes a gem here and there, as you say. France often has some nice little stories but I can understand them better in winter. The summer heat causes my rusty French to go completely down the drain.

Families and wars are sent to try us. I don't know what they're trying though.

I have your humidity at 14% so doesn't it cool off at night? No relief here as it is often between 75-90%.

Many movies called "Once" but I'm referring to the 2006 version. An Irish film. Perhaps it's a chick flick

"History of Violence" was a decent movie. I'll have to check out "The Kite Runner". With all the repeats on the movie channels, I often find some gems that I would have never rented.

Teenagers and exes I have a restraining order on the ex and I'm trying to convince the boys that they can bypass her - with a PO Box and gMail (the ex intercepts mail). Myspace/Text are my only connection but I never know who is really doing the typing.

No idea about the humidity (hygrometer's gone bust) but just twitching the nose has us marinating. "Once" is unknown to me but "without reservations" was on somewhere the other night but I missed it. I fully agree on Catherine ZJ so it was probably just as well. I would just have gotten hotter.

Saw "History of Violence" some weeks ago. Not too bad although the theme isn't new.

"The Kite runner" was definitely worth a watch. I like most things from the Islamic world of evil so that my perception of them actually NOT really having tails and hooves doesn't slip.

How are your kids? (I remember the situation is difficult, to put it mildly)

40 degrees! What's the humidity? I hope you have AC?
Not much on the movie channels but I've discovered a few treasures I wouldn't normally watch: "Once" and "No Reservations" - on the latter, I'll watch anything with Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Well there's a weed in it, that's for sure. But then that's what tabaco was originally held to be as well.
I watched a rerun of Klute this afternoon. We're pushing 40 deg C here at the moment so it doesn't matter what I watch, I can't pay attention anyway.
But I did take notice of young Jane.

Ground control to major tom. Could there be something other than tobacco in that cig?

Have seen any good new movies lately?
