Sorry Judy, I forgot to answer your question on whether I had a desktop or a laptop computer.
About 7 years ago I had a really old '286 system desktop and when I told my mother that I was going to buy a better new computer she offered to pay for most of it (You know how thoughtful mothers are), just because I always did her income tax returns.
Therefore I bought what was then 'state of the art' 386 desktop with an LCD monitor and CD burner. 40 GB hard drive and 512 MB RAM.
Operating System: XP
About 1.5 years ago I decided to try out a laptop. So I purchased a laptop with 80GB hard drive, CD/DVD burner, and 3GB RAM.
Operating System: Vista Home Premium
Last year I got interested in the Linux OS. Last year I obtained a 'junked' school computer at no cost. It is an old 386 COMPAQ with 20 GB hard disk and 512MB RAM. This is plenty of computer to run a Linux OS.
So now I have 2 desktops and a laptop.
Cheers,
walt
