Well I have a hp pavilion dv5220us entertainment notebook which had windows xp installed on it. It crashed with no reboot cd for it. So I installed windows vista home premium on it. Since then I have no sound at all. I have tried everything I know, updating drivers, reinstall vista, the works with no luck at all. It says in my taskbar that there is no audio output device installed. I'm stuck like chuck on this problem. If you could help that would be great.thanks a bunch

yeah, i did. it was bad drivers. (well... old drivers actually). the hardware wasn't recognized by xp sp2. sp3 had the older version of it but it wasn't the right one still. i just downloaded the newest drivers and installed.

what exactly was your problem? maybe i could help...?
