Pet Peeve: so-called "personal firewalls" (Norton, McAfee, Zone Alarm, and their foul ilk), Don't use 'em, never have, never needed to. Because I firewall the network, and say No to Microsoft (IE and Outlook in particular). That's my tip of the day, week and year. Tip #2: Networking problem with Micro$oft boxen? Uninstall the firewall first, and then see if you have a problem. If you still do, that means you had at least two to start with and now have one fewer.
