    basically, click start, run , type in msconfig and click ok
    at the top are several tabs , click startup
    dont uncheck anything, but see if you can see any unusal .dll's in the startup ...

    I use Eset Nod 32, and yes it's up to date. I also use Spyware search & destroy and Adaware free.
