Thx Dave, I think I followed your instr. Prob may be solved. still checking. Is there a difference between Normal.dot and normal.dot?Past my bed time. will look into it again in the am.

thanks... had to do a system restore in order to remove all Nero files. Tried to install it again today and the same thing happened. I have sent a message to Nero and I will see what they say.

Hummm,
When I try to install SP 2, i get "the specified file cannot be found" error,
then the installation failed message.

ALSO, if I try to upgrade thru the upgrade.microsoft.com site, I get an activex cannot run error,
even though all security settings are set to LOW.

Are these thing related?
What's missing?

Thanks for your quick response...Initially, I had trouble booting my PC in VGA mode, but when I did I followed your steps now my PC is working. Great help please keep on!
