Hi Artie. Sorry I took awhile to get back to you. Only just noticed your message there for me and didnt get any notification. The link scanner icon just reappeared out of the blue.
Well perhaps not exactly!! Seemed to coincide with that unscheduled update that came through which containing the new ID Total Protection.
Anyway, my linkscanner icon is fine so I suspect that the problem lay with AVG Technologies all along. Is yours back working again???

what were the results of the missing link scanner icons? I have the same problem with my avg 8.5
