- Recently took an early retirement from a 19 year career in business consulting and training with an area university to launch my eBay business full time. I've been selling on eBay since 1998. I also have another consulting and training business.
I've always loved computers and am self taught for the most part but am wise enough to know my best teachers are others. I've been using computers since 1983 and my first personal machine was an IBM PC AT. My first experience on the internet was with BBS's and unix based mail so kind of enjoy these boards because they remind me in a way of the past. I still have very close friends I met on those boards 'in the day'.
I'm here to learn, learn, learn and to help others too as I can. I teach eBay classes on selling on eBay and do some private training too.. Another class I teach is all about managing pictures on sites like eBay as well as using ftp and your own ISP's webspace and other storage sites to manage photos and files for use on the web.
I sell mostly my own 'stuff' on eBay and have some great stories to tell about items purchased for pennies and sold sometimes for as much as $750 to $1000. I do take consignment clients sometimes too but only higher ticket items. Selling a small ash tray for $2 is as much work for me as selling a $1000 item so I stay away from small item selling on consignment because the 'return' isn't as much for me in light of the same amount of work.
I guess that's about it .. I've waxed on far too long .. but wanted to share about my two biggest hobbies - computers and eBay! I'm a complete and total eBay-aholic .. mostly selling - I would say 97%. - Location
