First of all, I wouldn't consider a move from Win7 Ultimate to Win7 Home an "upgrade" of any kind. Just from the looks of the "apparently pirated" original, I would have taken that nice clean Win7 Home Premium and used it for a CLEAN INSTALL. Formatted the hard drive to squeaky clean, and started from nothing. There are too many possibilities of bad files, corrupted registry (which could be the main problem with the SLOW complaints), and innumberable other instances. The so-called "upgrade" is ill-advised. One thing you could try is cleaning the REGISTRY and file system with CCleaner, available FREE from Piraform.com. The free version is adequate and does everything I want it to.
