I'm having a problem that you have previously addressed in this post:

In post 9, you said to check the status of the following:
DHCP Client
net Login
network connections
workstation
server
TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
Windows Management Instrumentation

These are currently all disabled for my computer and I don't know how to enable them.

I also have a blank page for devmgmt.msc.

Any suggestions?

Start -> Run -> Cmd -> ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
In exactly this order... Should do the trick I'll choose to believe.

Etaf, I desperately need help with this problem now. If I can't get it solved I'm going to have to wipe the drive and start all over. Any suggestions?

Hello Etaf I'm having similar problems after using msconfig. Ex:can't connect to internet,can't do system restore due to the fact that all restore points have been deleted.Please help if you can.Thank you very much!

Hi Etaf

I also have a problem connecting to the Internet, My network is using wireless, it says it connected but Local only and will not connect to the internet.
have done a ipconfig/all and it gets the following ip address:169.254.204.46, i expect to see a 192. address but it doesnt get one please help !!!
