Can I ask a 'tech' question re: HDTV jargon?
I'm a 'newbie' and can't find an answer on any site... In researching LCD TVs' I've come across 2 terms I'm clueless about:
SAP - Secondary Audio Program - What IS it?
and
Auto Adjust Volume - What IS it and HOW does it work? ( uncomplicated answers would be most welcome!) If this is NOT the appropriate Forum OR if you know of a site for these definitions, please make a referral.
Thanks all!

SAP - Secondary Audio Program --> A secondary channel of audio (). Usually a dub of another language, like Spanish or French for the program you are watching.

Auto Adjust Volume --> Turns down the volume when those loud commercials come on so they are about the same level as the program you were watching.

Thanks! Do you suppose that AUTO ADJUST VOLUME 'works' while when viewing a movie the music suddenly BLASTS loudly I'm 'forced' to turn it down a notch and then back up... I am annoyed by needing to constantly change volume (the little green volume bars drive me nuts!)

When it works the way it is supposed to, that is exactly the kind of thing it is supposed to prevent so you don't need to keep changing the volume manually. And raises the volume when they whisper. Basically, it determines an average for the volume and then lowers the peaks and raises the troughs to make the volume conform to an average value. Like "normalizing" mp3's when you make a CD so that songs from different albums (and recorded at different volumes) all sound the same when played back so you don't need to keep raising or lowering the volume between tracks.
