Help Please with DRM/Hitachi AX-131U
I don't know if anyone will be able to help with this....but considering both Hitachi and the place i purchased the product are both as good as useless i am reaching desperation point!

I bought this stereo (Hitachi AX-131U) mainly because it has a USB port which i obviously ignorantly believed i could plug in my iPod and play my music through it....as advertised, but it seems to be not that simple!

As far as i can work out, the reason my music wont play (stereo screen says 'no music' when i plug it in vis USB cable) is because of a DRM issue, which i don't really understand but something to do with copyright on music i think???

Please does anyone know a way i can overcome this issue and be able to listen to my iTunes through my stereo??!

Any andvice or hints will be very gratefully recieved!!! THANKS!

Does the AX-131U have any type of auxiliary or line input jacks? If so, you may be able to use a suitable adapter cable from those jacks to the headphone jack of the iPod. That may be the only way you will get the DRM protected music on the iPod to play through the AX-131U. The controls on the iPod would be used for selecting songs for playback

If you are using iTunes to rip CDs to the iPod, you may have the option to have iTunes convert them to MP3 files which do not use DRM. They might then be picked up by the AX-131U through the USB connection.
