Freeing Region locked DVD player.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 Lap top with on-board CD/DVD player. I have stupidly allowed the DVD player to become region locked on US DVDs. How can I unlock it? I would feel safer with screw-driver and soldering iron than with complex software. Does anyone have any experience? Allan.

Most players can be changed up to five times. If you've already done that, we can't help you beyond that. The manufacturers and the movie folks do this for a reason.

I'll have to close this thread.
