about windows movie maker, etc
HI

I am not sure if this is right thread for this. If not can someone direct me to proper one that can help me?

OK, I am trying to make videos, and have been playing around with windows movie maker

Now what i need to learn is this--how do I take clips from a video I see to add to my movie? I mean I CAn obviously do this with my webcam movie. I just import and then put the clips in the timeline/story board.
But what I mean is say I see a video at for example Youtube, and would like a bit of that video for a clip in mine. What do I have to do to get it?

Now I must tell you. I am with Firefox, and someone suggested this: " Technical tip: Get Firefox browser, plus the extension or add-on"downloadhelper" . Then get FLV Player to play them. ALL are free utilities and easy to install.

Do you recommend these? And I need moree than just to play them. I need to put clips in movies I make in wmm. So what else would I need?

Download a program called Youtube Downloader, I believe its a freeware. This will download your videos easily.

Once you've downloaded them, their format would most likely be FLV. Now I'm not sure whether Windows Movie Maker is compatible with the FLV format, but if it isn't, you can download this program called WinAvi Video Converter. It is available on filehippo.com. It's a trial version but most of the features work.

or

Firefox extension add-on 'Downloadhelper'
