I wonder if there's any electricians out there?
Well, here it goes. We've got 6 ceiling fans in the house. All 6 have wireles remotes. For some reason, NONE of them work. We can cut power to the fans by turning their individual light switches on and off, but the remotes refuse to work on ALL fans. Any suggesstions from anyone out there? Anyone..at all? I know, this is strange...and very creepy. We've added these fans since September of last year when we moved in (new construction)...the batteries are fine. What could possibly be going on?
Just wanted to add that I did some research from the FCCs website. These things are operating in the 300MHz spectrum...so I expect no interference from Wireless Networks, right?

It was "one" defective remote that messed the others up despite the fact they were all on different "codes." I removed the battery from the remote with the sticky button and viola! All other fans and remotes are working perfectly! | | Junior Member with 7 posts. | | Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Victoria, Australia Experience: Almost intermediate!? |

#10 | Remote fans are terrific when they're working ... it's a bit of a bugger when things go wrong and you can't work out why, though.
I had trouble a couple of years ago with the fan in my bedroom suddenly switching on in the middle of the night (Hi speed) and the light coming on. Freaky!! This happened a number of times. Electrician couldn't work it out, reckoned it could have been caused by passing motorists' car devices.
Somehow that problem solved itself, but now the remote doesn't work - so no fan till I get a new one. Wouldn't have that trouble with a wall switch. | THIS THREAD HAS EXPIRED.
