Question DVD Recorder Problem
I have an Accurian ADR 3223 DVD Recorder / DVR Combo. I frequently transfer recorded TV shows from DVR to a DVD. Recently I began loosing to option or ability to add chapter markers while recording directly to a DVD, but i could live with that. Then the "copy" function which copies a recording from the DVR to a DVD got where it would not copy my last episode intended for a particular disc, giving the message "there is not enough space available". This even though the recording in question is about 21 minutes long, but the DVD recording itself shows 24 minutes or more left on disc. And, I could actually record/use up the remaining 24 minutes or so by recording directly to disc and not copying from the DVR. Then the problem worsened so that I could not "copy" say a 21 minute content even though there was maybe an hour left on the dvd disc. At first I could still manually record directly to the dvd to us of the space. NOW, however, I am filling about 2/3 of my DVD disc using the copy function (from the DVR) but then I can't even fill the rest of the blank space on the dvd manually/directly from a source. I get the message "write fail".

I am wondering if this is a problem with the firmware, and if so, could I reinstall it. Or is this a problem with the DVD recorder itself, and if so could I replace it?

I bought this unit from Radio Shack (I believe it is their own brand) and it is no longer under warranty. Also Accurian no longer makes this model, or any DVD recorder as far as I know.
