Solved: Ac Adapter power question
Ok, I posted this on Yahoo Answers and no one replied, hopefully you guys know what the answer is >.<

Ok, I found this old laptop in my closet with no power cord.
The laptop is a IBM Thinkpad Model 380D and from what I read from the back, it takes 16 volts and 2.20 amps to power.
I found online this AC Adapter (http://store.l-f-l.com/cgi-bin/cp-ap...od&ref=02K6496) and it is combatible with IBM Thinkpad Model 380, along with others, but not exactly 380D. Does this matter?

Also, it supplies 16volts and 3.75 Amps, this is 1.55 more amps then what my Thinkpad suggests (or requires?)
Should I get this AC adapter?
If not, what is one I *Could* get thats under $30?

Note: I went to Radioshack and they said it would cost $90-$120, just for the AC Adapter, I think its overpriced for just the power cord, or am I way off?

If you need more information just ask and, Thanks in advance

it should work as long as the plug is the same. better extra amps than not enough.

You don't. That's the risk. Do a google on Universal Notebook AC Power Adapter or go to newegg.com and search for same.

I bought a Rosewill unit from newegg and have been very satisfied.

HERE

I work on laptops and so far it's had an adapter and voltage for any thrown at it. There are other brands than Rosewill, some less expensive, some much more.

I use a couple of universal power supplies, and they come with many tips that will fit most laptops. I have a Kingston and a Targus model, and you can also buy the tips at Radio Shack to build your own cable.
