Question Cell phone purchase question
hey again!
didn't know if this was the right section of the forum to post in, but whatever. Plain and simple, my cell phone sucks. I live right outside of a good service area, and I can pick up a signal on occassion but it always drops the call in the middle of a conversation and then I can't get a signal back. I have an older nokia (my phone is here-http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6220-409.php) and it just flat reaks when it comes to performance. So now I'm on the hunt for a new phone. I want to be able to text and download ringtones and graphics, i would like a camera on it (medium res, i wouldn't use it for much), and I need it to PERFORM. But, I'm not sure which phones recieve a signal better than the one I have and I don't want to waste more money on another crappy phone. like i said, I live maybe1.5 miles from the nearest good service area, and dropped calls are not cool. So if anyone has any suggestions for a phone that they know works good, I'd be extremely grateful.

Thanks!

I've had good experience with Motorolas and LGs when it comes to signal strength. I used to stay in an apartment complex that I got zero signal in unless I walked out to the pool. I had a Samsung x497 at the time and it broke and got discontinued, so Cingular saw fit to send me an LG CG225, an older phone, but never had one single problem with it and could actually have a conversation on it sitting in my living room. Also my friends had Moto RAZRs (V3) and SLVRs (L6&7) and never had a problem with signal strength inside the apartment. So those are my recommendations from my experience.

The cell phone is only half the equation. The service provider's coverage is very important as well. Since new cell phones come out almost weekly, look for up-to-date reviews online and talk to providers in your area for more info. Also ask around to see what providers people use and what kind of service they receive. Unless you buy the phone from your wireless provider, you need to be sure it's compatible with their network.

as for "cells" we call em mobiles in AUS Sony Ericsson or Nokia are the way to go. easiest to use, best featured, good looking, as for most other brands, LG are quickly becoming cheap brand that aren't really trusted, Motorola are hopeless, m8 of mine had V3x... broke within a month took it back and got it replaced same sort of thing happened, had to live with it before i convinced him to go Sony same thing with another mate of mine who had the same phone, motherboard literally blew, got incredibly hot and died, ive had at least 5 of each nokia and sony and not a single problem, except one sony where the charger got stuck... as for service providers... i dont live in America so i would have no idea which is best
