DVD upscaling for new 32" Bravia
Hi I've just got my first LCD TV - a 32" Sony Bravia KDL32S3000. When I tried playing standard DVDs on my cheap Bush DVD player through a scart connection to the TV I noticed that although the picture quality was good it could be a bit better. Therefore is it worthwhile investing in an unscaling DVD player with a HDMI connection? The TV is 720p so I realise I may not notice a big improvement. I definitely can't afford a blu-ray player so am looking at getting one to prolong the life of my standard DVDs. Thanks

The reference to the SCART connection leads me to believe you're in Europe or Asia. Is this correct?

I vote for getting an upconverting DVD player. There are several good ones on the market and at affordable prices. Personally, I'm considering a unit from Oppo Digital. I think Sony makes some upconverting DVD players that should suit your needs and at an affordable price for you.

There is a DVD player shoot-out you can check out for recommendations.

Peace...
