DVD Recorder/Player
I am thinking about buying a DVD recorder to replace my present VCR recorder as I am really fed up with the poor quality tapes we get now.

My question is....can I watch another program on TV while recording on one chanel.

I have asked several sales people this question and believe it or not didn't get a final answer from any of them. Unsure, should be able to, don't see why not, probably not, etc., etc.

I want to be sure before I buy.

Thanks for any input.

Tildy, your question is not silly it's just that DVD recorders seem to be a very under-used technology. At least as far as standalone units for under a TV. Most people just use a DVR to record their TV shows. There are hybrid units out there like this one Humax DRT800. I do not know about tuners, I believe it just has one. So you would have to record shows to the HD and then transfer to DVD at a later time, I think you'd be able to watch a TV and burn a DVD from the HD at the same time.

Yes, I read it.
I did thank you and my question was answered.

When salesmen couldn't give me a definite answer I thought to try here for some feedback
Just surprised that no answered with a positive "yes I have one and watch while recording "

Thanks
