Hi i just got a new windows vista computer and my mic was working fine,

but then i changed one of my audio settings (sound>recording devices>stereo mix) i added stereo mix and made it my default but when i went to try to walk to my friends in vent they couldnt hear me.
I tried the mic ingame on counter-strike and they still couldnt hear me.
I tested the mic by recording something and it recorded fine
I changed back the setting but they still cant hear me
Does anyone know what this might be?
