Buying DVD-R/VCR combo
Long story short, I'm basically being given a DVD-R/VCR combo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...UNG-_-82676110

I have Comcast cable (no digital box) and I'm trying to figure out how a DVD-R/VCR combo would hook up with it. Past DVD/VCR combos had coax outlets on the back where I'd run cable in & out, but I can't find anything for that on this one. How do I get it to work without having to upgrade my cable $30/month to get a digital cable plan w/a box?

I should also add that it looks like it will work to play DVD or VHS and that I could record to DVD from VHS, but what I'm interested in is recording from TV to DVD or VHS. Basically find out if there's a way to get the cable running through the combo player then to the TV.

(also editing this into the first post in case it's missed)

I have a Samsung DVD/VCR very similar to that box with the same outputs. The bad news is, if you use the HDMI to connect the DVD, you may have to use the component output for the VCR. I was surprised that the HDMI upconversion didn't work with the VCR, just the DVD.

^That part I'm not so worried about. I can do that if I need to, no biggie. I'm more worried about being able to record from TV to DVD or VCR.

I'll be surprised if you can record from the HDMI, it's an output.
