hd tuner
i just bought a new lcd tv with an inbuilt hd tuner, but i can only get abc and sbs in hd and the reception on those is jumpy. and the reception on the rest of the channels not in hd is quite bad. would this be a problem with my ariel or the tv?

Could be either, and the lead-in from the antenna is also one of the suspects.
