Price quote on fixing a TV
Hi group,

We have a large TV at home that shows a double image . We had a repair tech come and look at it. He says it is common alignment problem and it will be $269. $119 labor, $30 for the trip charge and $120 for the part . I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to price check this repair. It seems very high to us.

120 for a part isn't really that expensive... not for parts these days. Considering just a new bulb on a projection TV is about 200$.

When he gave you the quote for the part did he give you a part number? I always ask them to give me the part number so I can then do internet searches and call at least one more local place to find out a price.

119 seems a bit high for a simple (less than 1 hour) repair. I have seen places that charge in the 80 dollar range.

Thanks Stumped Techy! It was very helpful. I passed the information over to my brother. We hope to get some leverage with this information.

Have a great weekend!
