just an extra piece of trivia,
with ms word, when you open the 'format' menu, then choose 'background' - you have a choice of
- colors
- fill effects
then under 'fill effects' a choice of
- gradient
- texture
- pattern
-picture [lets you use a picture as sort of a watermark - or even to put text all aound it or over it]
if you downloaded open office as johnwill sugggested, i imagine it would have the same / similar options available, and most likely in about the same place - play with it a bit - would save the double print
