Exclamation laptop connecting HARD drive!!!
I got a sony vaio grz 630 laptop for free and i salvaged a desktop hard drive for it because i needed one. and i ordered the correct 44 pin male to 40 female IDE cable andthe screen still wont show. It does not work i need some help here please that cable wasn't cheap.

You have plugged in the power on the 44 pin side to the PSU? You have ensured the BIOS has the controller port for that IDE controller enabled? You have ensured you have the correct Pin 1 of the drive to Pin 1 of the cable?
