while playing ps3, console shut off by itself. console will not restart. has been unplugged and let sit for 4 days. when attempting to power on, power indicator goes from red to green to yellow, then shuts down and flashes red.

sounds like the ps3 equivalent of the red ring of death, there's a good chance that your power supply or some other part is dead.
