Laptop bang for my buck?
I apologize if this is in the wrong section. My parents are buying me a laptop for graduation and have given me a generous budget. I will be using the laptop for college, so it needs good battery life and portability. Also I play the COD series and would like to do so on this laptop in my dorm. This is the laptop I've been looking at:
Sager NP2098
15.6" HD 16:9 WXGA Super Clear Ultra Bright Glossy LED Screen (1366x768)
- Intel T9900 45nm Core2 Duo 3.06GHz w/6MB L2 On-die cache - 1066MHz FSB 35 watt
- ATI HD4650 512MB PCI-Express DDR3
- 4,096MB DDR3 1066MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 SODIMMS
- Combo 8x8x6x4x Dual Layer DVD +/-R/RW 5x DVD-RAM 24x CD-R/RW Drive
- 500GB 5400RPM (Serial-ATA II 300 - 8MB Cache)~
- Internal 3-in-1 Card Reader (SD/MMC/MS)
- Internal Bluetooth + EDR
- Built-in Intel® PRO/Wireless 5100 802.11 a/g/n
- Built in 2.0 Megapixel Camera
- Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi ExpressCard 24-bit Sound Card
- Sager NP2098 Spare 6 Cell Battery
- Integrated Fingerprint Reader
- 1 Year Parts & Labor, Lifetime Sager Toll Free Tech Support
~~$1,628.00
3-4hrs battery life at 6.06lbs according to Sager
Does anyone have ANY suggestions for other laptops? This seems to fit what I'm looking for perfectly, but I wanted a more experienced crowd to look it over. Thanks!

seems like a good choice,
this is as you speced it?
http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np2098-...wconfigure=yes

maybe the only things i would add:
external monitor video adaper
nice feature to add to be able to use a larger external lcd / tv display

car adapter:
i think to include this would be a good investment

operating system:
you aren't getting an os installed with the unit?
[it's nice to have the 'hidden' partition with the os so if you need to 'restore' - it's available]

i didn't notice in the specs - but if you get it now - [with vista] - do you have the option to move to win7 when it's released?

Thank you for the input. The only other laptop which has appealed to me is this. Its video card benchmarked a little higher than the 4650, but the processor speed is a little slower. From xotic, I was going to get vista premium 64-bit with the windows 7 upgrade coupon. The Asus doesn't specify if this is included

kyle,
kind of a toss-up between the two isn't it?

sometimes benchmarks really don't mean anything in the real world though
- consider the the fact that in the real world you have many other programs installed on the unit
- versus when you read just how they obtain the benchmarks - [the os with service packs and whatever app / game they're doing the benchmark on]
- thus when you add the other apps / programs in - sometimes can alter the benchmark numbers quite a bit
- due primarily to what the other apps are taking up in cpu / ram with whatever services they may be running in the background

and if you have a couple 'hungry' ones running.......

make sense?

So you're suggesting the Sager? I am leaning that way also
