How to display on a projector:
Hi, I have been searching the web for a link that will enable me to view my display screen on a projector. Thanks...

Where I worked they plugged the projector into the back of the laptop/tower where your monitor goes, then you go to the desk top and right click, I can not remember what options come up once the projector is plugged in, but you do get other options that are not normally there when you have not got a projector there, this will show your desk top on the projector screen, sorry I can not be more specific with the instructions it was a good few months ago last time I did this.

This is the case with XP that is I don’t know if same procedure with Vista.

Just found this a couple of options on this Google search if you just want to play what is on the desk top just the data cable will do but there are other options in the first choice of a PDF if you want to do things like power point presentations and other stuff http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=showing+your+desk+top+through+a+projector&meta=&aq=f&oq=

Thanks I hooked up everything correctly as you said and it worked, but the only problem is that the on the primary screen I need to uncheck the "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor." But it is grayed out so I won't enable me to uncheck any solutions. I read some where today that this needs to be done, but didn't state how.

As far as I know you should not have to uncheck as never had to when I was connecting them at work, (only connected laptops) it if a desk top put the monitor back in, and you should be able to see what is on your desk top on the monitor

If a laptop it should just still be on the screen as it was when it was when connected to the projector.

If it does not go back when you unplug the monitor (if desktop) then do the below

Plug the projector back in switch it on so it’s recognised and see if that option is there, also try rebooting.

You may have to restart the computer to get this working, but when I go to meetings with a laptop, I just plug into the projector and start displaying.
