Laptop AC Adapter Issue?
Hello all,

Recently my laptop a Toshiba Satellite has had a odd problem. About a week ago, a power surge occured, the AC adapter for this laptop was not currently plugged into a surge protector. The power surge occured but the latop remained performing like it always has as if nothing happened.

Well about 2-4 hours later (estimation of its battery life) the laptop had randomly turned off when i had exited the room for about 15-30 minutes. Immediatly i looked at the AC adapted, made sure the connections were secure, no problem there. Then i began to troubleshoot, i turned on the laptop, power light turned on (blue light) and the processing light as well (blue light) but the battery light (yellow light) didnt come on.

As soon as i turned on the laptop, as i said power button turned on but then it would turn off about 1-3 sec's. Then i held the power button down and the battery light would begin to blink (draining the battery from the laptop). Now the power button being pressed nothing lights up. Also i tested the voltage of the AC Adapter.

Wall outlet AC Block Ac to laptop plugin
O: =============[ ]=============o=o
Outlet side :127.35 Input side: 0.00

I also checked other ac adapters with the DVOM and they all read about the same but not 0.00 they read much higher.

It seems like from the outlet to the Ac block there is power but from the block to the laptop plugin there is nothing. Now my opinion tells me this is an AC adapter issue, possibly the block has been fried. I was just wondering if you guys had any opinions on this as well.

PS. Also tried the whole holding button 30 sec without anything plugged in and battery taken out, didnt work. (Which also makes me think the AC Adapter is fried)

Please help thanks.
