How to take out Word 2000.
I acquired a computer that has Word 2007 installed but also Word 2000 that I understand was put in from an illegal disk, that I don't have and I want to take it out. I tried the wizzard and it asks for the disk same as add\remove and I have Win XP so Eraser2K isn't compatable.

Will watch this one, never had a program I could not remove before, is it a computer with more than one ID? If so do you have administrator rights?

Thing is, if I was given a computer I would delete everything and start from scratch and have it the way I want it and not as someone else had it.

But I guess its personal choice if you want to take on someone else's pictures and duplicate pictures that are not yours, and other files and viruses etc

Or have you not done that because you don't have Office 2007 disk? and reformatting means you wont get that back?

I have never had to use my disk to take Office off the computer, only obviously to put it on the computer, maybe they brought that in with the newer versions, wonder if someone can answer that one

I didn't notice the question you ended with. If you check in the Web you will see how many people are looking for a way to take 97 or 2000 and 2003 out because add\remove is asking for the disk and the 2003 wizzard although it takes out Word 97 and 2003 will often not take out 2000 and asks for the disk as it does in my case. But when they have a version that old they often have something like 2000 and can use eraser97 or eraser2K for 2000 but I have XP and eraser2K isn't compatable and can really mess up XP. 2007 was put in from an upgrade disk that I have but since I'm not experienced enough to troubleshoot or reinstall well it would be a struggle an then I would likely not get things back in ship shape the way the shope has it. What I want to determine is if I can take it out cleanly without having integrated files or .... cause a problem or if I have to take it back to the shop and have them do it. Thx
