Won't connect?
Hey,

I really couldn't find a "gadgets" forum, so I hope it'll be okay to post here.

I really don't like the Sony Ericsson W580i. It's just recently caused a new problem. I used to be able to transfer pictures and data from my phone to my computer effortlessly, using a data cable. Oddly enough, that's not an option now. I plugged in the data cable, and got the little "dreet" to acknowledge that it's plugged in. But there's no window that shows the usual ,"Would you like to..." or "New software...", even after I press "File Transfer". I know for a fact that I don't need the software, because I've been doing this for months. I also know that it doesn't matter which USB slot I put it in(I have a Toshiba laptop). Any tips would be appreciated.

Ready to throw my computer at the wall like a caveman,

Have you done updates lately that would change settings as Microsoft updates often do?

Does it work on another computer?

Have you transferred what you want to transfer to the computer, to your memory card in the phone before transferring?

It might have gone to the phone memory instead of the memory card some phones will not transfer unless pictures are transferred to the card first.

Have you tired a different cord between the phone and computer?

That is about the only things I can think off to have a look at.
