HDMI to Optical conversion?
So my Acer tower has a couple HDMI outs and I have it docked in my multimedia cabinet with my receiver. The only way I've played any audio signals from my comp is via a simple phono jack that converts to a Left and Right AV audio connection. This appears to only play back through my front left speaker and doesn't put out great sound. My receiver doesn't have HDMI inputs. Is there a way around this? I have a open optical input, but I don't think there is a simple converting cord for this.

I don't know of such a converter. I'd do some looking to see why the wired connection only gets one channel, my guess is that's the way to go.
