I Need Admiral TV help!
I have an older Admiral 27" TV, Model 12340. I cannot find the schematic on-line. The Vert? osc transistor is bad I think. It displays a bright horizontal line across the screen, but if I wiggle it, sometimes it works fine. It is not a soldering problem, but I think it is intermittant internally. Also it has a small heatsink, which is hot to the touch. I need a substitute transistor, but I don't know which. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
booder

There may be numbers on the transistor that you can
do a web search on.
I suggest you check the connections to the ciruit board
at the bottom of the flyback transformer.
Admirals are notorious for burning loose connections
down there and causing arcing that can cause the
symptoms you described.

Usually,if there is a burned off connection, you can scrape
the circuit board trace to expose bare copper and solder
a wire between the trace and the flyback connection.
