Symantic Norton 360
I'm running Symantic, Norton 360 on my Dell Deminsion 9100 W/ Windows XP, and was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question:

When you run the Norton Backup feature, does the backup also capture the CMOS and BIOS settings?

The reason I ask is because I plan on flaching my BIOS with the most recent update and I also want to replace the CMOS battery (5 yrs. old) and I'm afraid I might lose the settings.

If the answer is no, then does anyone know of a good utility that will copy the CMOS and BIOS setting so you can restore them if you do encounter an error?

Thanks for any help you can provide,

MP

I really doubt it, I've never seen a backup utility that does that.

You shouldn't really have to backup the BIOS settings, most of them should function at defaults. You can take a snapshot of the configuration screens if you have doubts.

Thank You
JohnWill,

Thank your input. I was unable to take screen shots of the BIOS settings so I wrote them down. Now it time to flash the BIOS with the latest upgrade.

Thanks again,

Sorry, I was referring to a digital camera, that's how I take shots of the BIOS screens.
