My magnavox TV is on the fritz, the power light will come on when plugged in, then i will turn it on with the button and it will make the snap-humm of a tv turning on, but there will be no picture and allw ill go silent, is there anything you all could do to point me in the right direction?

Unless you're an electronic engineer and have PCB testing skills, I'd call a professional. It's possible that a loose dry solder joint is causing the problem, or a burnt out component; either way you're not going to find it or be able to repair it without the right tools.
