JVC GR-DA30U camcorder date/time problem
Hello. I just received this camcorder and started reading the manual, and it indicates that the date and time are recorded to the tape "at all times." This is very disappointing, as that is not something I want and it wasn't listed as a feature when I ordered the camcorder. Is there any possible way to turn it off???

Are you sure what it's referring to in the manual is the same thing you're thinking it might mean? In other words, have you recorded something and transferred it to your computer?

My camera records the time/date, but it's not shown on the tape, it's used as timestamp data when editing, so I can see when I shot the footage. When I export the video to DVD, the time/date is NOT displayed on the final product.

Hi. Just got it today, haven't tried recording anything with it yet. I will do so tomorrow and post again with the results. I do hope that I mis-read what it said in the manual, but I think its unlikely.
