Question LCD TV - 60hz or 120hz?
Wife and I have been researching some LCD TVs to replace our ancient CRT during the upcoming Superbowl sales. We've narrowed it down to 2 Samsung 46" models ( LN46B550 & LN46B610 )

The only real differences that we've been able to determine between these two is a) one refreshes at 60hz (same as our PC screens) and one at 120hz) and b) a couple hundred dollars in price.

I'm inclined to pick the 610 while the wife thinks we should save the extra cash, get the first one.

Is the refresh rate difference a big deal?

Suggestions?

The refresh rate will make a difference for fast action on the screen. If I were picking now, I'd go for the 120hz model.

Thora3967 - you have a wise wife. Save the money. You'll never know the difference. I have 3-LCD 60 hz. HDTV and have never seen blurring nor artifacts of any nature. I also have several LCD monitors running at 60Hz connected to PC's with HDTV PCI cards and have never seen any blurring or artifacts.

When 120HZ is the norm sometime in the future or there is no price differential 60-120, I'd probably go with 120 HZ.

Just my humble opinion.
