Laptop to Lcd Tv
I can't get my dell inspiron 1000 to project an image on my insignia lcd tv using the vga hook up.
Does anyone have any idea why it won't work?

Hi Phaze29, and welcome to TSG.

Does your laptop have any kind of function key to toggle between the built-in and external display?

Have you checked and adjusted the Windows display properties setting to make sure the VGA output is set to match a resolution and refresh rate supported by your TV?

According to the manual you have to use the fn key with the f3 to toggle video from the lcd to the external video connector.

sometimes it is the sequence that the units are turned on by.
worth a try to turn TV on first and then puter and if no joy, reverse.
Just a guess.
