Solved: no sound from tv
First of all let me say that my grandson has hidden our remote and we can't find it. I have a toshiba 52xv545u that's a year old with a receiver, the sound on the receiver went out so I unhooked everything and put a hdmi cable from the back of the cable box to the back of the tv and I still get no sound but I do have a picture. It's plugged into hdmi 1 on the back of the tv and i have hdmi 1 selected in the input part of the menu. It's not muted so I am totally lost here. Anybody....

remote control
Hi:
A few options.
I downloaded a picture of your remote and had an almost similar issue with my LG.
Try combinations of:
MODE
INPUT

I actually resorted to reading the manual so you might try that.

Call Toshiba support line.

It turned out to be the cable box, the xbox worked with sound so it wasn't the tv set. I tried my sons cable box and it worked and I replaced the box this morning so i'm good to go
