Hard Drive: Locked with a password
Hi,

OK! I have my neighbor's Maxtor , Black Armor , External harddrive. He purchased the drive about a year ago and before saving one byte of information on it he put a password on it, which he subsequently forgot. Now we can't get into the harddrive. I have tried formatting it with Windows, DOS, SwissKnife. Nothing works. All I get is a non response or access denied. Are there any ideas on what I can do?

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry but our site's Rules prohibit help with any passwords....

If you haven't please try with Maxtor (now owned by Seagate) support- they probably have a way to unlock the drive once the owner provides some
information. This is not a guarantee.
