Smile Solved: letters retyping?
Ok first the problem is my keyboard (at work) keeps repeating letters, at first I thought this might be a key stuck down, but I cleaned out the keyboard and this still occurred.

Next I changed the keyboard to another (used) keyboard that looked in pretty good nic, and this happened again (always randomly never on certain letters or numbers).

So I put a NEW keyboard on my computer, and the same thing happened, I am beginning to think that it has something to do with my desktop pc, has this happened to anyone else?

I am at the moment using a loan pc from the loans department, (which I am in charge of) but as I am winding the job down, I doubt they will produce a new one for me to use.

Is there something in the unit itself that can cause this? I have already done one repair on this pc as it had a faulty vid card (for use with two monitors which was causing it to have problems booting up and replaced it and no problems booting up since) I am considering taking another pc out of stock to use for myself when more come in.

But since I am winding the job down I would rather just use the pc I have, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Beanie

Try going into the control panel, click on keyboard. You should get a 'window' where you can adjust the how quickly a key will respond. Maybe if you adjust this it will take care of the problem,.

Thank Vicks, have done this and will see if it will work, it only happens once in a while, I will know if it has worked if it does not do it in the next couple of days, never even thought of doing that.

Cheers

Well I was going to wait a couple of days to see if it worked but your right I will mark it as solved and if it happens again will just re-post, but I am sure that will fix it, damned if I know why I did not think of that before, going into control panel and go into keyboard, maybe its because I have never had to go in there before, but I sure feel like the dopey one.

Thanks

AHHH, don't be so hard on yourself...We have all been there at sometime. Just get reminded that we are human.
