Composite to VGA help!
Let me preface this by saying I am not hip on technical lingo.

So...I am a teacher and I have a basic computer in my room. My computer has a VGA cord that is connected to a splitter, so that I can have both my monitor and my projector hooked up to my computer. I want to be able to hook up my Wii to my projector, so I have this plan and I just need to know if it will work.

I am planning on unplugging the VGA cord that connects the computer to the splitter, buying this converter, and plugging the VGA portion into the splitter (video in) and the yellow composite to my Wii. Since both my monitor and projector are in the video out portions, that should work, right? Will that work? Am I crazy? If it won't work, what will?

Any help you could give me would be so helpful. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to TSG.

The bad news is that the product in your link will not work for you. It is a simple adapter and not any kind of video converter. It is made for use with computer video controller cards that support the option of outputting TV video on the VGA connector.

The good news is that the following product may be able to work for you. It is not a recommendation on my part since I have never used it. I just found it searching the Amazon web site.

Wii/PS3 VGA Cable

Hmmm
Are you sure that product would work? It doesn't look like it has a VGA male part. I'm sorry...I am so not super technological...

P.S. Regardless...thanks for trying to help me.

I see what appears to be some kind of connector directly behind the white RCA phono plug in the product photo on my linked page.

From the technical details section on the page in my link:
Quote:
One RGBHV signal output, 15 pin, can be connected to PC monitor or HDTV
A VGA connector would match that description. I could not find information on the page of the connector was male or female though.
