I have a netbook that was given to me used a few weeks ago. I have a DVD player that connects via 2 USB cords that I am using with it. Up until now, I have only used the CD/DV player on our regular laptop but this evening I wanted to watch a DVD on the netbook, and I got and error from windows media player that stated "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer."

How can I get it to play DVDs, and if it requires a software download, will it fit on here? I don't know how much space is on the hard drive, but it's not much!

VLC Media Player is a good alternative and it includes the DVD decoder so it should be able to play any DVD; if you have room for it.
