Creative Zen
I have a Creative Zen mp3 player - probably 5-6 years old. I am having a problem getting files onto the player. I drag them to the player and it "goes through the motions of transferring the files) But after it completes the files are not on the player. I updated the firmware to 1.21.03 and still have the same problem. The files just aren't there.

I'm old and stuck in my ways - I never had a problem on the old computer using XP and the software that came with the Zen. I used the software and never ever had a problem getting files to the player. Now I have a new computer with 7 and apparently the software is not compatible with Windows 7. When I try to install the software on the computer it says: Windows OS running on this computer is not supported by this product.

Is there anything I can do to solve this or is there another program I should be using (preferably something very simple)

Try running the Creative Zen software in compatibility mode:

Right-click the Creative Zen application shortcut and choose "Troubleshoot compatibility".
Choose the option "Troubleshoot program"

Now tick the first option "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows etc......".
Choose the Windows version it used to work on, then click "Next".
The program should shortly open with compatibility setting applied.
That setting will remain for future use of the program in subsequent Windows sessions, so you only need do it once.

If still no joy, check this Creative Zen web page for a newer version of the supplied software which runs on Windows 7:

If your model is not shown there, click the link at bottom-centre where it says "If your model is not listed above, please click here"

One final thing. I would uninstall the incompatible version before installing any new version of the Creative Zen software.
