sylvania 7" dvd player # sdvd 7040
I am having problems with it playing files from my flash drive. all files are mp4 video but some of them say they are not supported by the codex how can I fix this. thanks for any help

You will need to convert/encode the files that don't play to a format supported by the player.

Note that the 'problem" is that mp4 is just a container. It can contain files using multiple codecs. So you need to know which codecs are supported and the specs (ie: resolution, bitrate...and audio specs) for each codec.
