Procoder DVD Workshop 2 issue
Hello this is my first post on this forum. After years of having no trouble...I recently started getting very poor results on my custom DVDs . The mpeg files Pro coder express makes seem fine. But... the DVD I get from DVD Workshop or Procoder Burn DVD or Encore DVD all look very re-compressed. I have checked all my settings over and over again, and reinstalled Workshop whith no positive results. All this started after making exactly ONE DVD in PAL format (Which turned out perefctly) I normally only make only NTSC DVDs. The "Fit to template in workshop is off...but it is definately re-encoding the pro coder mpeg file again. Here is a detailed list of my settings.

Here is what I'm doing:
In Edius pro 4, using the data directly from my timeline...I go to Pro Coder Express to make a MPEG file, which is later l;oaded into DVD workshop 2 or similar... to make a fully chapered/menued DVD

The pro coder settings are: using the pro coder wizard
DVD
NTSC
Mpeg 2 program stream
Constant Bit Rate
it's a 1 Hr. 20 minute dvd so I select 90 Min
MPEG softwear Encoder
Optomize for quality
then I assign the file location

Advanced settings are: 4.7 media size
DVD Mpeg program
Use marker point
29.976 NTSC
upper field first
aspect 4x3
Highest quality
closed GOP is unchecked
1 pass
bit rate sets itself to 5900
intra dc position is set to 9
use strict GOP is checked ON
MPEG audio layer 2
224 KBPS
stereo
empahsis none

That's it- I get a clean playing MPEG file. But when I load the MPEG file into either procoder DVD burning or DVD workshop or Adobe Encore DVD The final DVD looks very bad. It seems like it's re-compressing the file again. This has just recently started after years of successful DVDs. The only this I recently changed was, when I made a PAL DVD. It works perfectly in the customers PAL player. I have been careful to reset everything back to NTSC.. I'm using Verbitum Blank DVD-r media
