Realtek Driver Problem
Hi, my sound has stopped working... I have found out that the driver has been uninstalled. When i try to reinstall the driver it wants to instal this driver .. Realtek AC'97 driver or something like that. I even tried to get it off the realtek website but when i go to install it just before it finishes the computer restarts.. It goes black and restarts, never finishing the install.. I tried 3 times and still no luck. Does anyone know a driver that will work?

This is the info i get from the Multimedia Audio Controller Properties:

Driver Provider: Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
Driver Date: 4/25/2007
Driver Version: 5.10.0.6240
Digital Signature: Not digitally signed

The error i get on the General tab of the properties window is that the drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28).. Any help with getting this going would be great. Thanks very much in advance.

hold down F8 key when computer booting up, should show you a screen with choices let you start Windows in different modes, maybe try "last know good mode" first, if it doesn't work, then try to boot into safe mode

When i hold down F8 it just shows me this blue little screen and asks which place i would like to boot from... it doesn't give me the list of safe mode, normal mode and soo on..
