cd/cdrw not being recognised as burner
OK I'll try to be breif. My dad has an opti storage OPCRW5224 cd/cdrw but his computer wouldn't burn discs, then it told him that he did not have a burner, then he called me. He gave me a number (not the one above) and I tried to download a driver with no download success. He then downloaded a driver (he's old) for god knows what and installed it. Adding to my frustration he now tells me that the computer is telling him that he has two drivers and he has to pick one, but he doesn't know which one to pick. I try desperately to find the correct driver to no avail. I now have no idea what the heck he installed and don't know what information to get to find out what to do next (to save putting my father in an early grave). Sigh I am not a techie but did make him remove the cd/cdrw unit to get the serial number. Hope someone can tell me what the heck to do next - he's driving me nuts.
